A great New York Times article on the recruitment scene of teaching jobs overseas. I remember how intense the whole affair sounded during phone calls with my husband. We are both very grateful that, for his first time interviewing for international teaching jobs, he not only received more than one job offer, but also will be receiving wonderful benefits and working with a great staff. Sooo excited!

Part I: Fit to be Thai

About two months ago, my husband called me on a cold February Wednesday morning to tell me that he had gotten job offers from a couple of international schools at the international teaching job fair he was attending in San Francisco, including one in Thailand. After squealing like school girls at this opportunity, we decided without hesitation that he would take this offer. So I thought it would be fun to document what is likely to be the biggest adventure of our lives.

I chose the blog name because it has been the theme of my life, literally and figuratively. I was born in Taiwan, where I lived in Taipei, Taichung, and a few other smaller cities and towns. Lived there until about nine years old, then moved to the United States, where I've lived since in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland, and traveled from coast to coast. I'm a former teacher and editor, and until recently, worked as a lawyer for the past nine years. A lifelong traveler himself, my husband and I dreamed of living abroad and seeing the world. After thinking and dreaming about it for more than 15 years, we are both excited and nervous to be finally embarking on this adventure, one that we hope you'll enjoy as much as we will!
